Can someone please edit this paragraph it sound odd and need to sound a little smarter!?

Often you hear that sports athletes are paid way too much and this is correct. It is one of the highest paid jobs in the world and all they do is provide entertainment and set bad examples to children and adults who look up to them. To give you an idea of what I am talking about here are the salaries of the highest paid athletes in each of the major sports. In one year David Beckham earns 27 million each year, Tiger Woods is earning 87 million and Michael Jordan earns 45 million! Children often have people who they look up to and they often follow their examples hoping to be just like them. If children are looking up to sporting players a majority of them may end up drinking, abusing or even taking drugs as a result of this. Why should sporting players be paid so much for doing this? (could you please extend on it too if you can)
