Apart from Beckham... why are English players scared of playing abroad?

I don't think they're scared of playing abroad. The Premier League is just the best league in the world, simple as that. English/British players have played in Europe; Owen, Woodgate, Pennant, Derbyshire, Beckham, Hargreaves, Mcmanaman, etc so they are willing. I just think that the money in English football and the quality of the teams is what keeps British players in the Premiership.
