Does the 1st Law of Thermodynamics contradict with Einstein General Theory of Relativity?

The 1st Law of Thermodynamics said that energy can not be created nor destroyed. But part of Einstein General Theory of Relativity (E=mc^2) said that energy can be created from matter. A one Kg matter contains enormous amount of energy.
